Welcome to Engineering First!

One component of this program is a sequence of four courses entitled Engineering Analysis. These courses will teach you the basics of linear algebra, programming, mechanics and differential equations. One of the tools that we will use heavily in the Engineering Analysis sequence is MATLAB. MATLAB is an important software package for computations which is widely used in engineering. It allows you to do simple computations quickly and easily and also to write powerful computer programs. In this respect it is similar to programming languages like Java and C/C++, but much easier to use. This orientation session is designed to help you get started with MATLAB. When the course begins TAs will have office hours every week in the three Engineering First labs. In addition, there is a MATLAB specialist who will be able to help you.
